Crafting Timeless Spaces with Bespoke Joinery
At Pia Design, we love bespoke joinery because it brings timeless style, smart functionality, and true personality into a home. It’s a sustainable, long-term investment that’s tailored to your space, your lifestyle, and your aesthetic - whether that means working around tricky corners, fitting seamlessly with existing pieces, or storing exactly what you need. Every detail is considered, from bold paint finishes to textured panels and playful handles, allowing for creativity while staying practical. Built with quality materials and designed to last, our joinery solutions are both beautiful and useful - and easy to refresh as your style evolves. Below, we’ve shared some of our favourite bespoke joinery pieces from recent projects - have a scroll for some inspiration!
Pond Place
I consider biophilic spaces to be nature-inspired interiors that contain sensory connections to the natural world. In terms of my own design practice, I find my greatest source of inspiration is always nature – whether that’s the textures of the sky and clouds, the changing colours of the leaves, a reflection in a pool of water or a stone or feather gathered from the ground. These tokens act as a starting point for many of my designs. I then strive to create spaces that bring the outdoors in by maximising natural light, incorporating materials like wood, cork and linen and introducing colours drawn from nature or the surrounding landscape.
Birchwood House
The Birchwood project is all about creating drama and personality through detail. The bespoke bar features graceful arches, a bronze mirror backdrop, and brass-trimmed shelving—all housed within a crisp white box room. Here, joinery becomes more than just functional; it adds depth, elegance, and individuality to the space. Built with high-quality materials and designed to stand the test of time, it’s a statement of timeless craftsmanship and sustainable design thinking.
Eden House
Eden House’s bespoke office joinery is a masterclass in mood and materiality. Featuring colour-drenched cabinetry and soft, custom-made V-groove panelling, we created a cosy, cocoon-like workspace that inspires focus and comfort. The use of rich tones and enduring materials highlights our passion for sustainable, long-lasting design. This is a home office that feels both calming and intentional - a timeless solution for modern living.
Garden House
For Garden House, we designed a custom joinery island trolley on wheels - a flexible, beautifully crafted piece that can move around to suit changing needs. Designed to seamlessly complement the existing kitchen, this portable island embodies longevity and thoughtful functionality, offering flexibility without sacrificing style. It’s a perfect example of sustainable design, adapting to your life rather than the other way around.
De Beauvoir House
In De Beauvoir House, our bespoke bar joinery brings together a rich mix of materials and textures: natural rattan panels, bronze hardware, a softly antiqued mirrored splashback, and a mini sink in hammered brass. The combination of these layered finishes is both playful and luxurious - a perfect example of joinery as personal expression. Built to last and crafted with sustainability in mind, this is a truly considered investment that blends timeless design with bold character.
Rhubarb House
At Rhubarb House, the bespoke joinery was designed around meaningful personal items - including a specific request to store a set of violins. Built with care and attention to proportion, this solution celebrates the things you love while providing practical, long-term storage. We believe joinery should reflect your story, and this project is a beautiful example of sustainable, personalised design that feels both timeless and deeply considered.
