Sustainability
Design shouldn't cost the earth
One of our core values is a commitment to green and sustainable practices. We select our manufacturers and suppliers carefully to make sure their green practices are aligned with our own values.
We are endeavouring towards a plastic-free and paperless office, and have implemented many eco-friendly practices at the studio, from recycling, composting and waste reduction, to low-energy LED lighting and solar power - our mission is to continually take steps to reduce our carbon footprint even more.
As members of 1% for the Planet, we donate 1% of our sales revenue to approved environmental non-profit organisations - our chosen charity to support is City to Sea, a not-for-profit organisation campaigning to stop plastic pollution at source, by connecting our actions to our oceans. We also work with Forest Carbon to ensure that we plant new trees in the UK to offset our carbon emissions.
We strive for responsible and sustainable design
Reuse, Refurbish, Repurpose
Before specifying anything new, we assess what can be restored, adapted or reused. From existing joinery and architectural details to furniture and fittings, we encourage clients to see the value in what’s already there, reducing waste and preserving the character of a space.
Green Materials
We prioritise materials with strong environmental credentials such as responsibly sourced timber, recycled finishes, natural fibres, bio-based materials and low-VOC paints. Wherever possible, we specify local or UK-made products to reduce transport emissions and support skilled, sustainable craftsmanship.
Designing for Longevity
We believe that the best form of sustainability is a well considered design - we design spaces that feel timeless, using well-crafted materials and pieces that can be maintained or repaired rather than replaced. By focusing on quality, adaptability and enduring style, we reduce the need for future renovation.
Ethical Design
Sustainability also means social responsibility. We work with suppliers and makers who share our values, ensuring materials are sourced fairly and transparently, with respect for people and communities. Knowing how and where something is made is as important as how it looks.
Biophilia & Wellbeing
We design spaces that connect people with nature. Natural materials, toxin-free finishes and good air quality support wellbeing, while plants and natural light bring calm and balance to the environment. These elements create interiors that feel both grounded and alive.
Responsible Partnerships
We collaborate with builders and trades who share our commitment to sustainability. Together, we plan carefully to minimise waste, use environmentally responsible building materials, and reclaim or recycle wherever possible. Our goal is to build with care for our clients, our collaborators and the planet we all share.
