Playful Opulence, Notting Hill

58.7 sqm / 631.84 sqft

This compact Notting Hill flat was transformed into a vibrant and characterful home, reflecting our clients' eclectic taste and desire for a space that exudes personality. Despite its modest size, the apartment now boasts a series of thoughtfully designed rooms, each with its own distinctive flair.

Whimsical Welcome

To set an inviting tone upon entry, we introduced a whimsical wallpaper trim that traces the skirting and architrave, adding a playful touch to the corridor. This lighthearted detail is balanced by elegant chandeliers and refined furnishings, creating a harmonious blend of fun and sophistication.

Lounge & Loafing

The open-plan living and dining area is a celebration of comfort and charm. A velvet chesterfield-style sofa in ‘cucumber sandwich’ green from Loaf anchors the space, inviting afternoon lounging and evening entertaining.

The adjacent dining area features a statement Soho Home table, perfect for dinner parties, while discreet Howdens kitchen units keep things sleek and streamlined.

Sleep in Serenity

In the bedroom, clever storage solutions reign. Full-height wardrobes maximize every inch, while a bold yellow velvet storage bed adds colour and practicality. Vintage bedside tables bring a nostalgic touch, and a custom desk in the window nook folds away seamlessly — the perfect blend of form and function.

The main en-suite blends classic charm with contemporary detailing. Sage green subway tiles, laid in a dynamic herringbone pattern, wrap the walls with soft colour and texture, while an Arabescato marble accent tile in the shower niche adds a touch of quiet luxury. On the floor, we opted for a modern interpretation of Victorian patterned tiles — grounding the room with heritage influence but keeping it fresh. A compact vanity unit with a fluted basin brings sculptural interest to the space, offering both form and function in this calming corner of the home.

Petite Powder Room

Small but mighty, the cloakroom is wrapped in Gucci’s heron wallpaper, creating a luxurious, cocoon-like feel. Traditional-style panelling adds architectural detail, while Arabescato marble skirting and architraves shimmer subtly in the mirror’s reflection, elevating this tiny space with big personality.
